Job Description
If you are a SharePoint expert looking for a full-time position in the Bay Area working with the “latest and greatest” technology, Coyote Creek Consulting wants to talk to you. We have an immediate opening for a senior-level professional who will collaborate with customers to construct optimal solutions to business problems using Microsoft tools, including SharePoint, with a heavy emphasis on .NET technologies. Most of our clients are running SharePoint 2003 and are now ready to upgrade to SharePoint 2007. As a SharePoint Developer you’ll help them make this transition.
Unfortunately (for us), because of the nature of our business we’ll only keep you busy about 80-90% of the time. What you do with the extra days is up to you – but we’ll keep paying you regardless. We call these Beach Days, but you might call them Family Days, Get A New Certification Days or Hobby Days. The choice is yours.
The responsibilities of the SharePoint Developer include:
Understanding the aims of development customers and ensuring these needs are met with the software.
Understanding and using current development methodologies, including effective project scope control.
Designing, loading and configuring SharePoint Portal Server and Windows SharePoint Services.
Participating in the complete software development lifecycle for applications based on Microsoft .NET (especially SharePoint), including analysis, design, code and unit test. Developing applications for customers.
Providing technical consultation in new systems development, new package evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems; participating in structured walkthrough and technical reviews.
Assisting customers in designing and implementing workflow applications.
Preparing functional specifications from which programs will be written; designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs.
Acting as a "subject matter expert" in your assigned areas of responsibility, including resolving problems related to this area.
Working with customers to formulate and define application scope and objectives.
Building relationships with customers to determine business requirements that will drive planning.
Keeping your technical, communications, and business skills current, with an emphasis on understanding emerging Microsoft-based development technologies and their impact on customers.
Planning, scheduling, and conducting system tests; monitoring test results; and taking required corrective action.
Required Skills
Actual production experience with SharePoint Portal Server and Windows SharePoint Services 2003 is mandatory. Candidates must have strong communication, interpersonal, and problem solving/analysis skills, and be able to work well both in a team and independently. Previous experience with professional services and/or consulting would be a big plus.
In addition, candidates must have experience with the following:
SharePoint 2003 technologies by Microsoft
.NET servers and tools
Web site design and development in a Microsoft environment
Working knowledge and skills in ASP, Infopath, JavaScript, VBScript, and XML, as well as.NET technologies such as ASP.NET and Visual Studio.NET
All or some of the other Microsoft family of .NET servers, including ISA, Content Management Server, Application Center Server, BizTalk Server, Project Server, etc.
Broad awareness of basic Internet, intranet, and WWW technologies, including Inter/intra/extranet tools; Web installation, configuration and performance management; Web navigation, content, linking, and browser tuning; Web security and encryption
Working knowledge of SQL Server 2000 with database/Web connectivity familiarity, plus understanding of database management and file access methods
Microsoft Office System.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have:
Four-year degree in business or computer-related field, or equivalent experience
3 - 5 years direct experience with Web application development
Actual hands-on production experience with SharePoint 2003
Current Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) desired.
